Brief Description of Project
This project is an ambitious and transformative town regeneration project at the centre of Virginia Town. The development of an integrated Civic Centre that will incorporate a new library, additional Theatre space at the Ramor Theatre (protected structure) and shared multipurpose civic events space both indoor and outdoor to cater to the needs of all services located therein and the broader community. The project includes the development of a new three storey building comprising of a community library, meeting rooms, events / exhibition areas, tourism information service and a range of other activities. The adjacent former Parochial House, a two storey end-of-terrace building (protected structure) on Main Street, Virginia, will be transformed to provide a box office and office space along with a digital suite and upstairs will be restored and converted into a multi use space. A new glazed entrance on Main Street for the Ramor Theatre (protected structure), together with the upgrading of the existing theatre and the construction of a new two storey shared foyer to the rear of the Parochial House between the Ramor and the new building, linking all the elements. The project has been designed to provide high level of multifunctional and flexible spaces.
