Our Environmental Policy

MacMinn O’Reilly Mahon  are Chartered Surveyors and Project Managers who offer professional services to the construction industry. We are committed to conducting business in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. We recognise our responsibility to reduce environmental impacts and to continually monitor and  improve our environmental performance.

The Directors are responsible for ensuring that the environmental policy is implemented, however all employees have a responsibility in their day to day actions to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met.

Compliance and Legislation

We will comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations, industry standards and codes of practice and we will also actively seek to exceed minimum compliance where feasible and promote best practices within the industry.

Sustainable Resource Management

As a small professional organisation our sustainability strategy for our organisation is relatively straightforward.

• Reduce travel to sites to a minimum, promote the use “Teams” calls where possible.
• Minimise waste: Use as little paper as possible, to reduce ink, paper, storage, and disposal. Encourage recycling and responsible disposal of waste materials in accordance with local regulations.
• Enhance Energy Efficiency: we encourage our employees to turn off all electrical and heating equipment when they are not in use, lights, computers etc.
• Use public transport to get to work where possible.

Carbon Footprint Reduction

We will continue to monitor and seek to reduce our carbon footprint by minimising travel, use “Teams” calls where possible, using energy-efficient office equipment, and promoting digital documentation over paper-based records.

We are currently working together with our Local Enterprise Office under their Green for Business Scheme.

Collaboration and Awareness

We will incorporate environmental factors into our business decisions, working with clients and contractors to advocate for environmentally responsible construction methods. We will continue to raise awareness among our employees about their environmental responsibilities and encourage sustainable workplace practices.

Continuous Improvement

We will endeavour to ensure that we regularly review and update our environmental policy and practices to reflect industry advancements and new sustainability opportunities.
