Brief Description of Project

New two storey extensions to front and sides of the existing Community Health Centre; consisting of; 1) extension containing 26 No. bedrooms, sitting areas, dining areas, storage and staffing facilities; 2) extension comprising of storage and staffing facilities; 3) internal alterations and demolitions to existing bedroom plans and associated uses; alterations and demolitions to existing elevations; 4) fire safety upgrade works and remedial works to existing building; 5)alterations to existing on-site access roads including provision of new roads, footpaths and car parking facilities; alterations to existing entrance onto public road, provision of landscaped amenities and boundary treatments; connection of foul water to public sewer and surface water to drainage system; together with all associated site development works.

Building elderly residential facilities to the new HIQA standards involves constructing individual residential units with shared common facilities and the appearance of a domestic building. Careful selection of finishes were an integral part of the estimate stage, giving a domestic feel with the required durability, all within a restricted budget.
