Brief Description of Project

Tendered in 2015 and completed in 2017. The proposed Film Capacity Expansion (FCE) Area 8 involved a total extension of 10,469 m2 to the existing Bausch + Lomb Ireland facility.

LEED silver certification was achieved by Bausch + Lomb, which required significant research and development of project specifications and tender documentation by all members of the design team.

This large extension includes new production facilities, fallow area, cartoning facilities, storage areas, laboratory facilities, offices, staff accommodation and ancillary areas.

The delivery facilities include incoming and outgoing loading docks (10 No. in total), associated marshalling yards and LLC warehouse. The development also required  internal modifications to the existing Area 6 and Area 7 buildings, to provide staff and material links between the new expanded area and the existing facility

The expansion also required the proposed relocation of an existing security office and site entrance gate. In addition to the above, significant site works were required, including soil stabilization, the provision of staff parking facilities and alterations to internal road network and underground piped services.
